Using my recent interest in props as fuel, I challenged myself to a simple painting a day for a month in the effort to foster better personal habits. Though it was at times a chore, one which I felt at times I didn't have time for, I'm happy to say I didn't skip a single day. That said, I'm also happy to be done and able to move on to other interests and perhaps future personal challenges.

Looking nice. I have been tempted in the past to try something this disciplined but have never done it.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you mister ! I bring you up in the classes and occasion workshops I teach and remember working with you fondly amigo ! Hope you are well :)
DeleteIt was rough to fit it in each night, rougher still knowing I had to post it. Next time I might keep it hush hush until the end to ease the pressure.
Anyhow, really helped to focus on a specific theme rather than my usual scattered whims.
these look fantastic
ReplyDeleteat what resolution are you working on a specific prop?
These were all done on Post-It's scanned at 400dpi - usually ending up around 2000px wide though I doubled that at times when I needed more detail fidelity.
DeleteFinally!!! :D
ReplyDeleteI know ! This last week was the toughest, hardly had time some nights ...
DeleteNice one, Tom. Particularly because it's not your usual cup of tea. I only feel like I am gaining new skills if I 'go out' and do things I haven't done before.
ReplyDeleteHope life is good,
K
Great job. Abuse the muse ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's some real nice paint'n there, mister.
ReplyDeleteI saw you today doing a workshop. Back home I rushed to dig in your stuff.
ReplyDeleteSO incredible. Your universes are beautiful. Such a nice taste.
I'm a bit late to this, but I'm very impressed. Did you do all of these from imagination?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind word! It's about 50/50, part of the challenge was geared toward getting me to use more reference actually :) Was a ton of fun and I hope to do it again soon.
